Dr Mango & the Chickpeas are an exciting new band based in Glasgow who have produced their own unique mixture of self penned and traditional Scottish music, Scots and French song. The band is comprised of Jen Austin (Orkney) on piano, Robyn Gray (Ayrshire) on fiddle and vocals, Kirsten MacLeod (Ardnamurchen) on accordion, Marissa Vachon (Vancouver Island) on bodhran and French song and Chris Waite (Borders) on guitar. The group met through playing on the already vibrant folk scene in Glasgow and each member brings their own regional influence to the group, which, mixed with and upbeat contemporary sound, creates a musical marmalade of mayhem and madness.
